Alpha Epsilon Beta Chapter History

After months of hard work, patience, and of course perseverance, The Alpha Epsilon Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. came to life on the campus of the University of The Bahamas on Wednesday April 11th, 2018. The chapter has had its roots go as far back as 2014 when three undergrads (Cameron Newry, Delreco Bonaby and Linardo Dawkins) and their faculty advisor (Mr. Peter L. Mitchell) came together on the then College of The Bahamas to create what firmly exists today. Years later, their efforts have not gone to waste, as more undergraduates saw fit to become men of Omega Psi Phi. In Summer 2016, Kristoff Wood, Jordan Phillips, Cletis Scavella, Keyron Smith, D’Ldron Smith and Johnathon Phillips joined the Pi Xi chapter. In the Fall of 2017, two more undergrads joined the fold through Pi Xi, Josh Duncanson and Joshua Smith. Finally in 2018, the last set of undergrads joined the Pi Xi Chapter, Robert Albury, Justin Smith, and Lionel Agnes thus giving life to the Alpha Epsilon Beta Chapter at the University of the Bahamas. In 2019, the charter line made up of four (4) young men, Othneil Duncobe Jr., Dudley Turnquest, Giovanni Williams and Vincent Gardiner Jr made up this line. The young men possessed the principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift crossed the burning sands into Omega, thus making history at The University of The Bahamas. A year later, AEB crossed another line in the Fall of 2020 amidst a challenging COVID-19 pandemic, but the three men that crossed preserved becoming great Omega men today, Ezra Bodie Jr., Oakland Duncan Jr and Jathan Hall. Alpha Epsilon Beta is still an active part of the community throughout The Bahamas, has a strong presence on the University campus through academics and campus life activity, and continues to attract the highest quality of men to carry on the work of Omega by way of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. May the Supreme Basileus of the universe continue to guide us in the direction our Founders had.
